Straight off the runway is the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 Nail Collection! While we won’t be able to shop the fashions until fall (whether or not we can afford said fashions in the fall is another question entirely), we can get our hands on the gorgeous nail polish that was created for the show now.
The three colors, pictured above, are Covet, Dare, and Asphalt. Personally, I’m digging that asphalt color the most, but I always gravitate toward the darkest available color. I’m excited though – if these are the colors we’ll be seeing in the fall, I hope it means turquoise will be a strong accent color, much like mint is now.
Oscar de la Renta • $22 each
I’ve been hearing/reading quite a bit about caviar manicures, which I believe is the act of adding a 3D bead-like element to your manicure. I just found this Ciaté Caviar Manicure and had to share. I’m pretty excited because with a KIT I might actually try this manicure style for myself. If it comes in a kit it can’t be THAT difficult, can it?
The only downside to a caviar manicure, as far as I can tell, is that it’s only supposed to last two days. Also, you might need to set up a couple of movies ahead of time since you’re only supposed to work on one nail at a time and each nail will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Even still … I’m game to try!
Sephora • $25
When it comes to jewelry I can’t stay away from rose gold, but when it comes to nail polish I’m like a magpie for regular old gold. I never knew I had it within me to covet $30 nail polish, but never say never when it comes to Tom Ford’s Gold Haze Nail Polish.
Bergdorf Goodman • $30
On January 1, I decided that my New Year’s resolution would be … drumroll please … to do my nails regularly. I never ever paint my nails because I’m no good at it. Of course, I’m no good because I never paint my nails. Quite the conundrum, isn’t it? So, I started painting my nails regularly and whaddaya know? I’m getting better! And I’ve also been all about new nail polish colors. I absolutely LOVE the colors – especially that gray! – in this Urban Ballerina Collection by Sephora for OPI. Love love love! Aren’t they just the most perfect colors?
To Purchase: Sephora; Cost: $18
I saw this Katy Perry by OPI nail polish collection in a magazine yesterday and I am now OBSESSED. You have to admit it’s a pretty great collection! From left to right the colors are: Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies, The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream and Black Shatter. I am particularly loving the black shatter, which will create a finish like the one below when applied over the other colors in the collection:
Love! The Katy Perry by OPI collection should be out in stores any day now.
