Yesterday’s theme was swimming, and today’s theme is “thinks that make me smile.” We started with a Bag of Tricks, and now we have these lovely Eiffel Tower Sunglasses. The person that can walk around in these glasses so nonchalantly that they have no idea why people are smiling, well, that’s the person I want to be my BFF. Double points if they can do so whilst wandering around Paris!

If I had a personal motto it would go something along the lines of, “Life is short. Find things that make you smile.”
This Bag of Tricks from Madewell would fit my motto perfectly. Wouldn’t seeing someone walking down the street with this bag bring an instant smile to your face? I know it would mine!

Let’s make it a day of swim, shall we? It’s in the 80s today in Chicago, making it perfect beach weather. I’d prefer a pool, but you work with what you can get.
I’m not sure this Kate Spade Dive-In Beach Towel coordinates very well with our Carmen Marc Valvo Tank from earlier, but what can you do? Sometimes you just need a little Kate!

Polka dots are so in right now so designers keep creating things with polka dots and I am buying right into the trend. Literally. Buying right into it. I cannot get enough and this Polka Dot ’50s Flare Dress is my latest obsession. I’m thinking of having a dots party that will involve me making a costume change every hour, just so I can fully show off my polka dots collection in the company of similarly dressed folk.

I don’t think I’m creative enough to figure out how to appropriately wear this ASOS Metal Collar Necklace, but I love it.
Seriously, does one wear this necklace with a tee shirt? A collared shirt? A sweater? A tank top? So many options, yet I’m not sure any of them are correct.

Rockstar wedges.
It doesn’t get much better than these Valentino Rockstud Wedge Pumps. Sure, they cost an astronomical $695, but this is a pair of shoes I could see myself wearing every single day for years on end. Or until the soles ran out, at least. But then I’d just take them to get repaired and keep on wearing ‘em. These shoes are that special.

April was pretty dry around these parts, but May has been filled with rain. I’ve recently been turned onto how awesome bubble umbrellas are. I mean, they’re more narrow so your bag may get wet, but your hair will remain immaculate.

Don’t believe any of the posts you see today. I am not, in fact, sitting at my computer being a good blogger. I am instead wandering around NYC in search of the perfect macaron, which is what I seem to do anytime I’m in town. Of course my day will start at Ladurée and then we’ll see how things go. Over the past couple of years I have become a huge macaron snob. I can’t get enough but they have to be good.
I think of macarons often so this pink macaron ring only seems fitting. It looks delicious. I mean cute.

I’ve got a juvenile sense of humor so whenever I see a hi-low dress I can’t help but think of the old adage “business in the front, party in the back.” Of course, it’s probably the opposite for hi-low dresses, but I can’t help where my mind goes!
This Love Chiffon Wrap Hi Low Dress from ASOS might be one of my favorite articles of clothing I’ve seen all spring. It’s just exquisite and gives off an almost ethereal vibe, what with the mint green and the soft feminine chiffon layers.
